It’s still hat season and this grey cable knit beanie is one that I have been loving lately. In my head sometimes I like to think I’m a New York City chick with a ‘kick back’ swagger. Do people even use the word ‘swagger’ anymore?. Although, I grew up as a New York suburb girl, I have always loved the thrill of a lively city. There is so much opportunity, diversity and of course there’s the upbeat, fast-paced lifestyle.
For this look I channeled my inner urban chick. This is something I would wear if I woke up on a Sunday morning and decided to throw on a comfortable yet chic outfit and grab a bagel and a french vanilla latte from a small coffee. I may be living a city girl dream but that’s what I pictured when I styled this comfy, on-the-go outfit.
One of the best pieces you can have in your wardrobe is a versatile jacket. My featured army militant jacket from Old Navy falls in this category. I have to say that this is one of my favorite wardrobe staples. I would wear it every day if I could! It can be styled with pretty much everything and has a drawstring to create a cinched waist. Definitely an added PLUS for a less bulkier appearance. Faux leather leggings are also great to have. It a simple way to add femininity to an outfit.
This look would also work well with a puffer jacket. Here is another styled look with the Harvé Bernard taupe clutch.
Neutral tones have been a new favorite of mine. I used the colors grey, black, olive green and taupe to gave me the neutral look I wanted. I also added an extra touch with makeup. See how I achieve my everyday signature makeup look here. I think something magical happens when you add a bit of mascara, lipgloss or a colored lipstick to any ‘kick back’ look even if it’s not a full face of makeup, it will help bring your appearance full circle.
